They don’t question who they are, they know who they are and trust themselves to make the right decisions based on their full understanding of their self-identity.

How To Build A Strong Sense Of Self

Are you struggling with your sense of self? You can use the strategies below to build your sense of self. With everything having patience, practicing and putting in the effort, you can have a strong understanding of who you are.

  1. At the end of the day pull out that journal and reflect on your experiences, thoughts, and the fluctuations of emotions you encountered throughout the day. Instead of quickly trying to live it thoughtlessly, take a step back at the end of each day to really reflect on how your day went. What did you do? Why did you make the decisions you made? What conversations did you have and for what purpose? You can learn so much about yourself by doing self-reflection. If you want to you may realize things you can do to improve yourself and take yourself to the next level.
  2. Build and develop your intuition. Have you ever had a strong gut feeling about something, even if you don’t know why you are feeling it? Practice listening to your intuition and it will increase your understanding about yourself. Build trust with the most important person in the world, you!
  3. Start being aware of the way you talk to yourself. Speak to yourself with kindness, gentleness, and positivity. How can you trust yourself fully if you don’t know yourself? If you normally speak to yourself harshly, try shifting your negative language to positive ones. You’ll get to know yourself through kindness. Think about this, would you continue to talk to someone who is speaking to you cruelly? I wouldn’t!
  4. Decide what exactly you want out of life. After all, do you remember we are not here forever? Some believe life is too short, in that case, don’t you want to live life to the fullest? Really take the time to think about what you want out of life. The bible says, “Without a vision, the people perish”. Create a clear vision in your mind of your hopes and dreams and don’t wavier, be faithful to it. This will help you identify yourself and how you see your own world.
